General conditions of eligibility for the scholarships listed below:
- Any students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply.
- Must be entering the University of Alberta directly from a high school in India with less than 24 IB, AP, or A-Level credits.
University of Alberta India Centenary Scholarship
Field of Study: Open (any undergraduate program)
Value: $20,000 payable over 4 years
Conditions: Awarded to students on a study permit with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta from a high school in India. Selection based on academic standing, demonstrated leadership qualities based on involvement in extracurricular and community activities, and a counselor or teacher's letter of recommendation. Renewal of funding for the second, third, and fourth years is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a full normal course load at the University of Alberta, while studying on a study permit. Students must have graduated from a high school in India and have less than 24 IB, AP, or A-Level credits when beginning their undergraduate program at the University of Alberta. Transfer students are not eligible for this scholarship.Note: Students who receive the U of A India Centenary Scholarship are not eligible for the U of A India Select High School Scholarship.
Application procedure: Students will be considered for this Scholarship if they have applied for both Scholastic Distinction (Entrance Citations) for International Students and International Entrance Leadership.
University of Alberta - India First Year Excellence Scholarship
Field of Study: Open (any undergraduate program)
Value: $3,000
Conditions: Awarded to students studying in Canada on a study permit with superior academic achievement entering the first year of a University of Alberta undergraduate degree program from India. Selection based on high school academic standing. Students must have graduated from a high school in India and have less than 24 IB, AP, or A-Level credits when beginning their undergraduate program at the University of Alberta. Transfer Students are not eligible for this scholarship.
Application procedure: Automatic consideration upon admission to the University of Alberta.
